Connecting With Your Ancestors – “A Chill Moment”.

Two of our actors Chris Hamley and Gail Friswell performed Louisa’s Walk for us today whilst we took a welcome day off.

Gail rang me later to say that  she had  experienced a ” Chill Moment”.  Apparently two of the audience members knew they had a female convict ancestor but didn’t know which ship she had travelled out on.  They were looking at the metal representation of the Rajah Quilt in Yard Three during interval and they saw her name on the central plaque which names the 180 women who travelled out on the Rajah in 1841.

They were so thrilled!

It is moments like these that makes what we do so special; connecting people with their past.  It can’t be measured in worldly terms.
