Live History Productions is committed to bring our history to life using our skills as writers and actors.
The much acclaimed Louisa’s Walk is now in its 10th year and our sister-production, Her Story approaching its 4th.
It was time to expand our repertoire! No Mercy a harrowing yet mesmerising tale of the first woman to be hanged in Tasmania, has been running at the Penitentiary Chapel (The Tench) for two weeks. Yesterday L.H.P. launched our second historic presentation at the beautiful Runnymede in New Town.
Entitled Take Tea With Harriet, guests meet on the verandah of this gracious villa and are invited through to the elegant drawing room there to take tea with Harriet Bayley the widowed daughter of Captain James Bayley. Tales of life as a whaling captain’s daughter unfold as guests are transported to a bygone era. To add charm to this gentle and intimate time, Harriet sings and plays a sea song on her autoharp!
The presentation concludes with a trip to see the scrimshaw treasures and a quick wander through the house before bidding Harriet goodbye, once again on the verandah.
Take Tea With Harriet makes a wonderful gift and gift cards can be purchased at: http://nationaltrusttas.rezdy.com (go to the home page for a direct link)
