It’s officially the last day of winter today – Yay!! I saw my first Welcome Swallow last weekend ,when we were on our way back from Louisa’s Walk, at the bottom of the Cascade Gardens. It swooped into the dam and flew off again.
I remember being told by a farmer’s wife living down the Huon Valley that the swallows arrive on the farm during the first week of September and that she always marked Spring’s advent by their arrival.
I have never seen a Welcome Swallow so early but spring can’t come soon enough for me!
